The RAID Open Water 20 course is an entry-level scuba diving certification program that teaches individuals the fundamentals of scuba diving. The course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely plan and execute open water dives to a maximum depth of 20 meters (66 feet).
The course is structured into a series of knowledge development sessions, confined water dives, and open water dives. During the knowledge development sessions, students will learn about scuba diving theory, equipment, and safety procedures. They will also study the effects of pressure and how to plan dives using dive tables or dive computers.
In the confined water dives, students will learn and practice basic scuba skills in a controlled environment, such as a swimming pool. These skills include regulator recovery, mask clearing, buoyancy control, and emergency procedures.
Finally, in the open water dives, students will apply the knowledge and skills they have learned in real-world diving situations. They will perform a series of dives, progressively increasing in depth and complexity, under the supervision of a qualified instructor.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a RAID Open Water 20 certification card, allowing them to dive to a depth of 20 meters with a certified buddy. This certification is recognized worldwide and opens up a whole new world of underwater exploration opportunities.
